Ibrunat contains the Drug / Molecule called Ibrutinib. Ibrunat is a small molecule drug that binds permanently to a protein, Brutons tyrosine kinase (BTK), that is important in B cells

Ibrunat is indicated for Mantle Cell Lymphoma, Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia / Small Lymphocytic Lymphoma, Waldenstroms Macroglobulinemia, Marginal zone Lymphoma, Chronic Graft Versus Host Disease. Ibrutinib is a first line treatment in those with CLL who require treatment and are newly diagnosed. It may also be used in CLL that relapses.
 
Ibrunat can cause side effects include : Bleeding, Leukostasis, Infections, Decrease the blood cell counts, Heart problems, Liver problems.
New cancers have occurred in people taking Ibrunat, including skin cancer & other cancers.
The most common side effects seen include : Pneumonia, Upper respiratory tract infection, Diarrhoea, Feeling very tired, nausea, headache, swollen hands, ankles or feet, being short of breath, dizziness, fainting, constipation, infected nose.
Antiplatelet drugs like Clopidogrel, NSAIDs like Ibuprofen / Naproxen, Blood thinners like Warfarin / Dabigatran can cause bleeding / bruising with Ibrunat.
Aspirin can increase the risk of bleeding when used with Ibrunat.
Azole antifungals such as Itraconazole, Ketoconazole can affect the removal of Ibrunat from body.
Do not use more than prescribed dose.
Patients who have received doses higher than those recommended should be carefully monitored.
Do not take extra dose to make up for the missed dose.
 
Precaution
 
Do not take Ibrunat with grapefruit or Seville oranges  this includes eating them, drinking the juice, or taking supplements that might contain them. This is because they can increase the amount of Ibrunat in blood.
