Tenfoclear 300mg (Tenofovir ) is used with other HIV medications to help control HIV infection. It helps to decrease the amount of HIV in your body so your immune system can work better. This lowers your chance of getting HIV complications (such as new infections, cancer) and improves your quality of life.
Mechanism of action:
Tenfoclear 300mg (Tenofovir ) is a defective adenosine nucleotide that selectively inhibits the action of reverse transcriptase, while only weakly interfering with mammalian DNA polymerases α, β, and mitochondrial DNA polymerase γ. Tenfoclear 300mg(Tenofovir ) prevents the formation of the 5′ to 3′ phosphodiester linkage essential for DNA chain elongation. A phosphodiester bond cannot be formed because the Tenfoclear 300mg (Tenofovir ) molecule lacks an —OH group on the 3′ carbon of its deoxyribose sugar. Once incorporated into a growing DNA strand, Tenfoclear 300mg (Tenofovir ) causes premature termination of DNA transcription. The drug is classified as a nucleotide analogue reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NtRTI). Reverse transcriptase is a crucial viral enzyme in retroviruses such as human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and in hepatitis B virus infections.
Dosage and Administration:
